Senior Project Manager Maintenance

Salary

R1 059 105 (all-inclusive remuneration package per annum)

Requirements

    • Grade 12 / Matric plus NQF Level 6 qualification (SAQA recognised) in Civil Engineering
    • 5 years relevant experience in Roads Infrastructure Maintenance environment, including at least 3 years in a junior management position

Duties

    • Plan & programme road regravelling and drainage-structure construction
    • Manage identification, approval & use of borrow pits; ensure availability of materials & resources
    • Coordinate & monitor road-regravelling activities and adherence to standards
    • Manage District Roads Maintenance operations and implementation of the road-maintenance manual
    • Control utilisation of heavy road-construction/maintenance plant & equipment, including shifting between maintenance centres
    • Ensure adherence to Occupational Health & Safety: provide specifications for camp resources (sanitation, protective clothing & equipment)
    • Manage roads-maintenance production and provide budget inputs
    • Conduct visual assessments of road network and road-works activities; monitor execution of construction & maintenance
    • Coordinate implementation of road projects and provision of mechanical services
    • Manage acquisition, disposal, repairs & scheduled maintenance of district plant & equipment; oversee mechanical-maintenance systems & registration/licensing renewals
    • Implement Roads Maintenance Expanded Public Works Programme: conduct needs analysis & projects; monitor/report on small-project completion; manage NYS payments; compile district reports
    • Manage & utilise human, financial & physical resources per directives & legislation; report on equipment utilisation
    • Evaluate, monitor & appraise subordinate performance; provide capacity development, maintain motivation & performance-management culture; issue job descriptions; manage leave
