CHIEF WORKS MANAGER: BUILDING

Salary

R397 116 per annum

Requirements

    3-yr tertiary qualification (NQF 6) in Building/Civil/Structural Engineering or Architecture with relevant experience OR (N3 plus trade test in Plumbing/Carpentry/Bricklaying or related field plus 3-5 years related technical experience). Valid driver’s licence required. Extensive knowledge of OHSA & National Building Regulations (SANS 10400 etc) & PFMA. Registration or candidacy with professional body advantageous. Good verbal & written communication, computer literacy, interpersonal, budgeting & estimating, project management, knowledge of government procurement processes (SCM directives & circulars).

Duties

    Manage day-to-day maintenance of state-owned buildings. Facilitate effective project execution in terms of cost, quality & time in state-owned properties. Manage project costs & budgets. Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with specifications set by department & laws. Ensure OHSA & regulations compliant. Assist in development of building programmes & conduct conditional surveys & report regularly on progress. Render coordinated & professional service at all levels regarding maintenance & management of DPWI clients. Update asset register.
