Requirements

    • Grade 12 plus NQF Level 7 (SAQA) in Mechanical Engineering
    • 3 yrs post-qualification mechanical engineering experience
    • ECSA registration as Professional Engineer (compulsory)
    • Valid driver’s licence (except persons with disabilities)
    • Competencies: programme/project mgmt, design/analysis, R&D, CAE, legal compliance, report writing, leadership

Duties

    • Design cost-effective mechanical systems, prepare tender specs, approve works against norms/standards
    • Plan, design, operate & maintain mechanical projects
    • Human-capital dev: train & supervise techs/technologists/candidates; performance mgmt
    • Office admin & budget: consolidate resource plans, ensure procurement compliance, monitor & report expenditure
    • R&D: continuous professional development; liaise with engineering bodies
